We’ll all be saying “Bonjour” to the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday with the Games’ Opening Ceremony, and you won’t have to wait long to see men’s and women’s gymnastics. The U.S. Men’s Olympic Team competes on Saturday, and the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team on Sunday. Set your alarm clocks early for the live-action on NBC and Peacock for the men’s qualification round at 5 a.m. ET (Saturday) and the women’s first showing at 5:40 a.m. (Sunday). Read on for the full roster, schedule and who to watch in Paris.

Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey And Jordan Chiles On A Mission To Win Gold

4 out of 5 of the women gymnasts on Team USA are returning Olympians, and they’ve dubbed the Paris Games as their “Redemption Tour” to win team gold after taking team silver in Tokyo. The veterans include 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist Simone Biles, reigning Olympic all-around champion Suni Lee, Olympic floor exercise gold medalist Jade Carey and Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles.

After that disappointment on the world stage, Biles won all-around, balance beam and floor at the 2023 World Championships and also led the team to win gold there. However, she is the only member of the Worlds’ team who will compete in this year’s Olympics. Shilese Jones, Skye Blakely and Kayla DiCello, who were Biles’ teammates on the 2023 World Championships, were all sidelined by injuries at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the end of June. Other countries to watch include Brazil, who took team silver at Worlds, and France, who rounded out the medals with team bronze.

Paris Predictions for Women’s Gymnastics

So who should you keep your eyes on when the women gymnasts hit the floor at Bercy Arena in Paris?

  • Biles is favored to win gold in the all-around, vault, and floor exercise due to her extremely high degree of difficulty. Also, would put her in contention for another beam medal to add to her decorated resume.
  • Lee is likely to medal in both uneven bars and balance beam, and she is eyeing a gold on beam. She likely will also grab the second spot to compete in all-around finals.
  • Carey will be vying to make the floor final to garner another medal after winning a gold in that event in the Tokyo Games. In addition, she’ll want to compete her Amanar upgraded vault in finals.
  • Chiles has shown consistency all-around but has shined on bars lately – so it’s likely to see her contribute there for Team USA.
  • Hezly Rivera, who is the youngest member of any sport in the Team USA delegation, will likely be contributing on the balance beam for Team USA.

Men’s Gymnastics Medal Prospects: Will They Bring Home Their First Medal Since Beijing 2008?

The USA men’s team brought home no team or individual medals in the Tokyo Olympics, so they’ll also be looking for a stronger showing at the Paris Games. And medals could definitely be in the cards as the USA athletes took third in the 2023 World Championships, behind Japan, who came in first, and China, who took second. Fred Richard is in contention for an all-around medal coming off winning the U.S. Olympic Trials and earning a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships. As for individual medals, Khoi Young was the only U.S. male gymnast to medal as an individual in the 2023 World Championships (silver on vault and pommels) but was only named as an alternate athlete. They are returning Olympian Brody Malone, who competed in the Tokyo Games, to help lead the team to its first Olympic team medal since 2008.
