Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old Serbian centre-back, who stands at 6ft 5in, has agreed to a five-year contract and is Forest’s fifth addition of the summer transfer window.

“We have long admired his performances with the Serbian national team, and in Serie A and European competitions for Fiorentina,” Forest’s chief football officer Ross Wilson said on the club’s official website.

Who is Milenkovic?

Born on 12 October 1997 in Belgrade, Serbia, Milenkovic started his career with Partizan Belgrade before moving to Fiorentina in 2017 and spending seven seasons with the Serie A club.

He made 264 appearances in total for them and was part of the sides that reached successive UEFA Conference League finals in 2022/23 and 2023/24. He was also named in the Conference League Team of the Tournament for 2022/23.

Milenkovic has also been capped 57 times by Serbia and has played in three major tournaments – the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup, as well as the most recent European Championship.

Forest are next in action in pre-season on 19 July against Sunderland in Murcia, Spain.

Their opening match of the new Premier League campaign is at home to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday 17 August.
