The Opening Ceremony at the Olympic Games is always a show-stopping event, and this year’s kickoff in Paris, France, was no exception to that fact.

With musical performances from Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, to the torchbearer’s escapades at some of Paris’ most famous landmarks, to an 85-boat parade down the Seine River, the 2024 Opening Ceremony was a spectacle for the ages, reminding sports fans across the globe just why Paris is known as the City of Light.

Thousands of athletes proudly participated in the event despite the rainy weather, all standing and waving their countries’ flags from various watercraft on the Seine as they floated down the river toward the Trocadéro.

Women’s golf fans might even have recognized a few familiar faces among the crowds as a handful of LPGA, Epson and Ladies European Tour athletes had the incredible opportunity to represent their country in this year’s Opening Ceremony in Paris.
